The new F.A.I.R. Racing Sporting over/under in 20 gauge with 3”/76 mm chamber has been especially designed for Sporting fans, a clay shooting discipline where the clay pigeons simulate the flight, running and trajectories of live quarry, with paths that require great gun swinging skill. So maneuverability is one of the first requirements for a Sporting over/under.
F.A.I.R. Racing Sporting in 20 gauge – Features
The new over/under manufactures by the Gardone-based Italian company is a 20 gauge shotgun with a 3”/76 mm chamber. As usual for F.A.I.R. over/unders, barrels feature the proprietary XCONES forcing cones and are internally chromed and tested for use with steel shot cartridges too. Barrel length of the standard model is 30”/76 cm, but optional 28”/71 cm or 32”/81 cm barrels are available. The internal chokes are Technichoke XP70s, supplied in five different values. The rib is 0.354”/9 mm wide, ventilated and anti-glare checkered, leading the shooter's eye to a red fiber optic sight. Racing Sporting's long-stroke ejectors are automatic selective.
The receiver is machined from solid forged steel blocks. The locking system features a large crossbolt with double underlugs. The locks use spiral springs and hammers with double safety notches.
The trigger is single-select, typical of Sporting rifles where the choice of the barrel is fundamental for some shots. The trigger assembly is the adjustable XR Trigger type. The receiver finish is a glossy black burnishing, with gold inscriptions and gold clays.
The stock is European walnut wood with an ergonomic Sporting profile, oil-finished with fine pitch, laser-checkered grip zones. The recoil pad is rubber. The weight of the 20-ga F.A.I.R. Racing Sporting is 121.7 oz/3450 g. The rifle comes in a case containing the five chokes and a choke key for a price of 2329 euro.
