Berettaʼs new 12-gauge, over-and-under double-barrel shotgun has been introduced on November 27th, 2012 at the “La Almenara” shooting range in Sevilla, Spain, and will hit stores worldwide in March 2013. Conceived as a successor to the well-known model 682, the Beretta 692 sure features all it takes to become the next star in Trap fields. The 360mm-long “Steelium Plus” profile between the cylindric parts of the barrels will help reduce barrel climb and provide tighter, more accurate patterns. An enlarged receiver and the new B-FAST balancement system will allow for controlled, fluid reactions and easier handling; Berettaʼs patented “Memory System”, already seen on the DT-11 shotgun, will also come with the 692, featuring five 20-grams steel and aluminium weights to be added to the stock for further balancement. The Beretta 692 shotgun will come in Sporting and Trap variants, with either five OPTIMA chokes or **/* chokes. The 692 will also feature the same mechanical trigger group of the tried-and-true 682 variant.
