The SIG Sauer MCX Virtus is chambered for 5.56 NATO and 300 BLK cartridges and was conceived for the demands of the Special Operations community.

The MCX Virtus is available in 5.56 NATO and 300 BLK and is engineered and built to be the “most adaptive, accurate and longest-lasting rifle available”, according to its producer. The original SIG MCX rifle was conceived for the demands of the Special Operations community and designed as a modular platform for durable performance and full end-user configurability.

The cold hammer-forged barrel is available in 9”, 11.5” and 16” lengths. The MCX Virtus can also be equipped with eight free-floating M-LOK handguards, in standard and suppressor-ready configurations.

From users' feedbacks, the added features and enhancements of the MCX Virtus include increasing accuracy and additional modularity: between barrels, stocks, handguards and colors, the MCX Virtus can be configured for any possible need or mission.

Its cold hammer-forged barrel (with a heavier contour profile to increase accuracy) is available in 9”, 11.5” and 16” lengths and features an advanced interchangeable design so that it can be exchanged at the operator level.

SIG Sauer MCX Virtus: a compact and low-recoil rifle

From a mechanical point of view, the MCX Virtus is a gas piston operated rifle. It utilizes the SIG SAUER short-stroke piston system and unique internal recoil system that eliminates the M4-style buffer tube. This produces a compact and light-recoiling weapon. Another interesting mechanical feature is the the new Matchlite Duo trigger, a two-stage unit that provides the shooter with a crisp, clean feel. The new tapered bolt lug design results in smoother cycling and extends the bolt life. The MCX Virtus can be equipped with eight new free-floating M-LOK handguards available in standard and suppressor-ready configurations.

The AR-style controls are ambidextrous. The magazines are AR-15 type too.
