Ruger releases another Marlin legendary lever-action rifle, the Model 336 Classic

"The important thing for consumers, retailers and distributors to know at this point in time is that the Marlin brand and its great products will live on.” So said Ruger President and CEO Chris Killoy in October 2020 when Ruger acquired Marlin for $30 million as part of Remington's bankruptcy assets liquidation. Good intentions translated into reality, because in the last two years Ruger actually reintroduced many popular Marlin lever-action rifles. Now it's the turn of the Marlin Model 336 Classic.

The Model 336 Classic comes with an American black walnut stock and forend with checkering to improve grip. Metal parts are blued, the trigger Is gold-colored.

Nice details: in the Model 336 Classic the stock’s black pistol grip cap is inset with a Marlin Horse and Rider medallion.

The Model 336 Classic is chambered in .30-30 Win. and features a 20.25”/514 mm long cold hammer-forged barrel. Barrel length helps improves accuracy. The rifle comes with an American black walnut stock and forend with checkering to improve grip. A soft rubber buttpad helps absorbing recoil. The stock’s black pistol grip cap is inset with a Marlin Horse and Rider medallion and the forend is attached using a barrel band. Metal parts are blued alloy steel, with a gold-colored trigger. The finger lever is standard-sized and magazine capacity is six rounds. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight coupled to a hooded front brass bead for quick target acquisition

The Model 336 Classic features an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. Receiver, lever and trigger guard plate are CNC machined from alloy steel forgings.

The Ruger-made Model 336 Classic is marked "Mayodan, NC," bears an "RM" or Ruger-Made serial number prefix and features the red and white bullseye in the stock. The price tag of the “reborn” Model 336 Classic lever-action rifle in the U.S. is $1,239. Additional models, in different calibers and configurations, will be released in the next future.
