The skeletonized green mountain laminate stock is undoubtedly the most striking feature of the new Ruger 10/22 Competition rifle in .22 LR. Besides its aesthetic qualities, this stock also reduces the overall weight of the rifle to 5.5 lb / 2495 g. Other interesting technical details include the 16-⅛” / 410 mm stainless steel bull barrel with black Cerakote accents: it's fluted to reduce weight and dissipate heat. A ½”-28 thread pattern allows for the mounting of the included muzzle brake or other accessories. A proprietary semi-auto chamber increases accuracy and precision while not compromising reliable feeding and extraction.
Ruger 10/22 Competition, a feature-packed rifle
The custom receiver is hard-coat anodized, CNC-machined, heat treated and stress relieved 6061-T6511 aluminum with an integral, optics-ready, 30 MOA Picatinny rail. A heat treated and nitrided CNC-machined match bolt creates a tight-fitting, smooth action. The dual bedding system incorporates a second bedding lug, ensuring the receiver is securely bedded to the stock.
There's also an innovative second barrel locator to provide a free-floating barrel for superior accuracy. The receiver incorporates a rear cleaning port, providing access to the barrel from the rear of the receiver for ease of cleaning.
Other features are the popular Ruger BX-Trigger, an oversized bolt handle for ease of charging, a match bolt release that allows the bolt to be released forward with a quick pull to the rear and release, and an extended, ambidextrous magazine release. Capacity is 10 rounds.
With a MRSP of 899 USD (price may vary outside the US), the rifle ships in a hard case and includes a detachable rotary magazine, Ruger Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, challenge coin, cleaning cloth and decal.
