New Operator DMR series rifles from Rock River Arms

Six models, four in .308/7.62×51 and two in .223/5.56 NATO, available with 16″ and 20″ barrels. U.S. manufacturer Rock River Arms (RRA), a household name in Modern Sporting Rifles and pistols, introduces its new Operator DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) series for 2023. Intended uses are personal defense, marksmanship and law enforcement duty applications.

Rock River Arms Operator DMR rifles in .308/7.62x51: 20” and 16” barrel with or without suppressor

Still in .308/7.62x51, the Operator DMR Enhanced model OP1007BT from Rock River Arms features a 20” barrel and a SilencerCo Chimera 300 suppressor.

The two .308/7.62x51 models with 20” barrel are called the Operator DMR OP1005BT and the Operator DMR Enhanced OP1007BT respectively. They feature chrome-lined barrels and share several common components, such as a low-profile gas block, mid-length gas system, RRA two-stage Ultra Match trigger, 17” lightweight free-float M-LOK rail handguard, BCM SOPMOD buttstock, Magpul Pro Series MBUS flip-up sights, LAR-BT3 billet upper and lower receivers, QD mount, five-slot rail assemblies, and a Hogue beavertail grip. The Operator DMR Enhanced OP1007BT also features a SilencerCo Chimera 300 suppressor. Further upgrades include an additional RRA 3-slot rail assembly and an ARCA Swiss Rail Adapter.

The 16” barrel Operator DMRs in .308/7.62x51 are the OP1010BT and the OP1012BT, both built on RRA's LAR-BT3 billet upper and lower receivers and come with chrome-lined, 1:10 twist barrels that deliver 1.5 MOA accuracy at 100 yards. comes with Magpul MBUS Pro sights, QD mount, and RRA's 5-slot rail assemblies. The OP1012BT model is enhanced with a SilencerCo Chimera 300 suppressor, an additional RRA 3-slot rail assembly, and an ARCA Swiss Rail Adapter.

The Operator DMR models OP1505 and OP1510 are chambered in .223/5.56 NATO, with 20” and 16” barrel respectively. This is the 16” OP1510 with RRA's 13” lightweight handguard.

The Operator DMR models OP1505 and the OP1510 are chambered in .223/5.56 NATO. Both feature the RRA forged LAR-15M lower and forged A4 upper receivers, together with the RRA two-stage Ultra Match trigger group, A2 flash hider, carbine-length gas system, low-profile gas block, To round off the package, Magpul Pro Series MBUS flip-up sights, BCM SOPMOD buttstock, 5-slot rail assembly, QD mount, and Hogue beavertail grip.

The Rock River Arms Operator DMR model OP1505 in .223/5.56 NATO features a 20” barrel.

The key differences are found in the barrel and handguard configuration: Model OP1505 features a 20-inch chrome-lined barrel with a 1:7 twist. Paired with this barrel is RRA's 17-inch lightweight, M-LOK compatible handguard. Model OP1510, on the other hand, includes a shorter 16-inch chrome-lined barrel with a 1:9 twist rate.
