One of the trends in 2020 is definitely the great coming back of the .22 caliber Long Rifle. At the SHOT Show we have seen and will see a lot of rifles and handguns in this caliber, some with first-rate technical solutions – as in the case of Christensen Arms, a company specializing in the construction of superlight rifles, manufactured with extensive use of carbon fiber.
Features of the Christensen Arms Ranger 22 rifle
This is the case of the Ranger 22 model in .22 LR, a bolt-action rifle featuring an aluminium receiver and steel bolt with dual opposing locking lugs. The Christensen Arms carbon fiber tension barrel with threaded muzzle has a steel core and is 18”/457 mm long. The stock with a flat-bottom forend is also carbon fiber and this helps to keep the rifle weight at just 5.1 lb/2.3 kilograms. The Christensen Ranger rifle comes with a Remington 700-type Trigger Tech adjustable trigger and a 0 MOA Picatinny rail for mounting any type of optics.
The rifle fed from Ruger 10-22-compatible magazines. Two stock finishes are available: black with grey webbing and tan with black webbing. Sub-MOA accuracy at 50 meters is guaranteed.
The price of the Christensen Arms Ranger 22 in the US is 795 USD. Let‘s wait and see what we will have to expect in Europe. At least it is clear, that also Christensen Arms is following the worldwide trend to .22 firearms. Affordable purchase prices, cheaper ammo - a good choice for training sessions and a lot of fun. We could also watch a lot of interesting new models (pistols and rifles) in this segment from many manufacturers. That‘s a good environment for success.
