The full name of the new air gun is S510 XS T, where the last letter stands for "Tactical". And one glance is enough to understand the reason for this name: instead of the classic beech wood or laminated stock, the Air Arms S510T features a stock worthy of a Black Rifle. The MOE+ pistol grip and CTR telescoping stock are made by Magpul, the aftermarket specialist, while the fore-end is made of aluminum with M-LOK slots on three surfaces (one along the underside and one each side), plus a Picatinny rail at 6 o'clock that allows for the mounting of Harris-style quick-detach bipods. The fact that the stock and pistol grip are compatible with the vast catalog of M4 carbine accessories offers many possibilities for customizing these rifles.
A “tactical” version in both standard and high-power versions
The Air Arms S510T rifle is available in two versions: the first one called S510 T "High Power" is offered in .177, .22 and .25 calibers (4.5, 5.5 ad 6.35 millimeters) with a 495-millimeter long Lothar Walther match grade barrel. This full power version is capable of delivering a maximum muzzle energy of 40 ft-lbs in .25 caliber (max muzzle energy for .177 and .22 calibers is 20 and 30 ft-lbs, respectively).
The "Standard Power" version is instead available in calibers .22/5.5 and .177/4.5 mm with a 395-mm barrel. In this case the maximum muzzle energy is less than 12 ft-lbs.
Common to all models, the new built-in 7 series manometer, the AR-style moderator, Air Arms fill connector, drop-down cocking lever and vertical foregrip. A Picatinny rail above the action allows for the mounting of scopes.
Thanks to the telescopic stock, the length of the rifle can be varied between 985-1070 mm for the High Power model and 900-985 mm for the Standard Power model. The Air Arms S510T air rifles are fed by the proven 10-round rotary magazines. Prices are in the range of 1800 to 2000 euros, and vary depending on VAT and import duties in different countries.
