According to information from Walther Arms Inc. in the USA, the Pennsylvania State Police, which has around 4,500 uniformed police officers, decided in favour of the Walther PDP. The decision was made after extensive testing, in which well-known competitors were also involved. The new service pistols are the Walther PDP Compact and PDP F-Series models in 9mm Luger (9x19), which are reportedly equipped with a "Direct Cut" interface without an additional adapter plate for mounting the popular, indestructible Aimpoint ACRO P-2 mini red dot sight with a closed housing.
“As one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country, we are honored to have the Pennsylvania State Police select the Walther PDP as their new duty handgun,” said Rick DeMilt, director of law enforcement and military sales for Walther Arms, Inc. “Providing their officers with the PDP’s unmatched versatility and dependability ensures they have the ideal weapon to focus on the situation at hand, when timing and responsiveness are everything.”
