It was only in spring that the Bundeswehr commissioned Heckler & Koch to supply the HK437 in .300 Blackout, which will be introduced as the G39 SD at the Special Operation Forces Command (KSK). We have already reported on this here on all4shooters as part of our coverage of the Enforce Tac 2024. Now the long-established German arms manufacturer from Oberndorf am Neckar has once again been awarded the contract in a Bundeswehr procurement procedure: according to a company press release, Heckler & Koch will also be supplying the new G210 semi-automatic sniper rifle for the Bundeswehr's special forces. The company won the tender for the G210 with the HK MR308A6. The G210 is intended as a short-range sniper weapon in the proven 7.62x51 mm caliber. A delivery of up to 500 units of the HK G210 for the Bundeswehr's special forces is planned for 2025.
The new G210 sniper rifle for the special forces of the German Armed Forces is based on the MR308A6 from Heckler & Koch
The HK MR308A6 is a semi-automatic gas-operated rifle that makes operation easier for the user to the relocation of the charging handle to the side of the weapon. The MR308A6 was specially developed for the G210 tender and presented to the public in Nuremberg at EnforceTac 2024 - here is the link to the all4shooters report, where you can find more technical details about the MR308A6. A precision cartridge in 7.62x51mm is also to be introduced together with the G210.
After signing the contract with the BAAINBW representative, CEO Jens Bodo Koch and Chief Sales Officer Marco Geißinger expressed their delight at winning the tender:
"We at Heckler & Koch are proud to be a supplier to the German Armed Forces' special forces. The spearhead of the German Armed Forces deserves the best weapons in the world. That is what Heckler & Koch stands for."
Further information on the company can also be found on the Heckler & Koch website.
