he world's leading polymer-frame pistol manufacturer, GLOCK from Austria, not only introduced the brand new GLOCK 44 in .22LR these days, but can also proudly claim to supply the new French Army service pistols. The "Pistolet Automatique de Nouvelle Génération" (new generation automatic pistol) – or PANG for short – will be a GLOCK 17 Gen5 with FDE (sand-colored) frame and black slide.
It will replace the French MAC 50s and the Beretta 92Fs produced under license – called PAMAS G1 in France – by 2022. According to the information available, the contract includes 74,596 pistols and is worth 44 million euros. Also included were matching holsters,15,000 night-time aiming devices (flashlight and laser), 7,000 sound suppressors, 9,000 training guns, 45 million full metal jacket cartridges, 2 million subsonic cartridges, 4 million marker training rounds and other accessories. The Czech company Sellier & Bellot has been selected as the ammunition manufacturer.
