Fabrique Nationale (FN), the world's popular military and LE equipment manufacturer based in Herstal, Belgium, presents the EVOLYS, a state-of-the-art machine gun of the latest generation. The weight has been reduced by 30 percent compared to current machine guns, so in the standard 5.55x45 mm and 7.62x51 mm NATO calibers it weighs just 5.5 kg and 6.2 kg respectively.

Each country has its own special forces and specialized units. Here we take a look at some of them to see how they are organized, what are their missions, and the threats they must face – which sometimes come from within.

Special Operations Forces (SOF) act as operational or strategic high-value instruments in the national security toolbox of their respective states. These are  thoroughly trained and experienced soldiers who go on extremely important (and usually dangerous) missions. For this reason, it is usually the highest military and political levels that decide. 

The systems includes the revolutionary 6.8x51 hybrid ammunition, the NGSW-AR lightweight belt-fed machine gun, the NGSW-R rifle, and suppressors. The new weapons offer “significant advancements in battlefield weapons performance” and should replace the current M4 carbine and the M249 SAW chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO.
