“The upgrade you’ve been waiting for”: from CZ, the new Scorpion 3+ Micro pistol

First they gave you the large format 9mm Scorpion EVO pistol. Then came the EVO 3 S2 Micro. Now CZ USA is introducing the next, compact generation of the Scorpion series: the CZ Scorpion 3+ Micro pistol, still in 9mm. Described as “the upgrade you’ve been waiting for”, here are the new gun's features: a new grip that eliminates previous safety selector issues, ambidextrous AR style mag release and ambidextrous bolt catch (in addition to the ambi safety already found on the EVO 3), improved sights and handguard. Let's summarize what CZ has to say about its new product: the fully redesigned pistol not only improves the Scorpion’s ergonomics and user-friendly operation adding customer-requested upgrades, but it incorporates advanced materials that are tougher and lighter than before. 

In detail, the ergonomic grip design makes Scorpion 3+ Micro more comfortable to shoot, while the M-LOK handguard is now upgraded from aluminum to polymer to reduce heat transfer. The upper receiver has been slimmed-down and offers more options for attaching different accessories to replace the end cap. 

The magwell has been redesigned and resized, with more purchase on the handguard for large or gloved hands. CZ also added recessed texture to the 20-round polymer magazine for positive purchase during reloads – a locking window on the mag body accommodates the new AR-style mag release. And in case you were wondering, the new Scorpion 3+ magazines are compatible with previous generations of the Scorpion.

The 4.2”/106 mm cold hammer-forged barrel is threaded 1/2×28 and comes equipped with a removable flash can. 

The updated adjustable four aperture aluminum sights deliver lower 1/3 co-witness with popular red dots, providing a better sight picture and reliable backup. As for controls, CZ promises super intuitive operation even in high-stress situations.

Overall, the CZ Scorpion 3+ Micro pistol is a pretty sexy, modern-looking and compact gun with many nice features, clearly intended for personal defense but also ideal for fun at the shooting range.
