Taurus expands its 856 everyday carry revolver line with a new model chambered in .327 Federal Magnum. A compact, 6-shot handgun featuring recoil-mitigating cushioned grip designed for deep concealment, the 856 was previously chambered only for .38 Special +P. The new .327 Federal Magnum chambering is a welcome addition for those who still rely on revolvers for self-defense or as a back-up gun.
The .327 Federal Magnum is a relatively young cartridge in the personal defense world.
Based on a the .32 H&R Magnum cartridge with a 1/8-inch longer case, it was introduced in 2007-2008, it “exceeds the performance of its parent cartridge with velocity pushing toward the .357 Magnum range without the heavy perceived recoil pulse,” as they explain at Taurus.
“This makes the .327 Federal Magnum-chambered Taurus an excellent choice for EDC revolver fans looking for a hard-hitting yet easily manageable 6-round capacity handgun in a compact and concealable form.”
Taurus 327, for EDC revolver fans

The recoil-absorbing soft rubber grip adds comfort and provides excellent retention in a compact handgun platform. The Taurus 327 features a front serrated ramp sight and no-snag rear sight channel for quick and clear targets acquisition.
