Introducing the STP 2011 Black Major 6.0 match pistol in 9mm Luger and .45 ACP

The STP Black Major 6.0 not only offers a high capacity. Thanks to its voluminous grip, it is particularly suitable for sports shooters with large hands.

Especially for tall shooters with hands like excavator shovels, we recommend this sports pistol based on the voluminous, two-piece high-cap frame with steel upper slide guides and aluminum grip base for ergonomic reasons. The magazine capacity of the double-stack magazine is 17 rounds in 9mm Luger and 11 rounds in .45 ACP. However, as magazine capacity only plays a subordinate role in static precision shooting and many other disciplines, we would advise all other shooters to use the counterpart in the form of the STP 1911 Target Master (TM) 6.0. This target pistol per excellence features the classic one-piece and slim grip for single-stack magazines with a capacity of 9 rounds in 9 mm Luger and 7 rounds in .45 ACP. Experience has shown that many shooters find this frame easier to handle. The fully equipped STP TM 6.0 is available from a price of €3,280, whereby further special requests can be implemented at any time.

Single or double stack? Black Major 6.0 with double stack magazine

The 2011 Black Major 6.0 pistol, on the other hand, starts in a higher price region from €4,810, although individual special requests can also be fulfilled here for an additional charge. With the magazine inserted, the attractive long-slide pistol in .45 ACP has an empty weight of around 1,410 grams, whereby the long dust cover (LDC), which extends up to the muzzle, in combination with the massive 152-mm long bull barrel which is centered in the slide without a barrel bushing, ensures a certain front-heaviness when firing. A two-piece steel recoil spring guide rod with a long spring sleeve sits under the beefy ramped barrel with two lugs and chain link.

Sophisticated & comfortable: the features of the STP Black Major 6.0

The STP Black Major 6.0 not only comes with a range of features befitting its status, but also combines this with appealing aesthetics.

The equipment is up to standard: single-action with skeletonized aluminum trigger and trigger stop, and lightweight tool steel ring hammer as well as other components made of fine materials, which releases cleanly with a trigger pull weight of 1,370 grams and refined characteristics. The fully adjustable match sights with Kensight micrometer rear sight and tapered front sight, which provide a very high-contrast sight picture with a generous sight radius of 198 mm, are a perfect match. The notch of the rear sight blade is 3-mm wide and the front sight width is 2.9 mm, which means little "light" between the sight elements, but is ideal for accurate tack driving. The straight recoil spring housing in combination with the grip safety for a high shooting hand position allow the match pistol to sink deep into your hand, while the double-sided thumb safety with wide thumb rests and the magwell, on which the lower edge of the hand can rest, further increase comfort.

Artful milling work: the exterior of the STP Black Major 6.0

The millings below the rear sight and the deep serrations in the front of the slide ensure that the Black Major 6.0 can be handled safely and in a controlled manner during all reloading/manipulation activities. The six front serrations are visually accentuated by the fact that they merge into milled cut-outs on the top of the slide so that the barrel can be seen through the narrow windows. The version shown here has an extremely hard-wearing "DLC30 grey" hard coating, but an alternative "DLC42 black " surface finish is also available at no extra cost. The STP 2011 Black Major 6.0 is supplied in a red and black Cordura nylon transport bag with non-slip skateboard tape for customising the frame, tool spanner, care products and operating instructions.
