Springfield Armory Ronin Operator pistol – Classic 1911 style, modern features

At the SHOT Show 2020 Springfield Armory introduced the Ronin Operator, a pistol faithful to the original 1911 archetype but with an infusion of modern features. 

First of all, to overcome the never-ending debate between the die-hard 9mm and .45 ACP fans, it's available in both 9mm and .45 ACP calibers. 

Frame is stainless steel, while the hot salt blued slide is carbon steel. The forward serrations on the slide of the Ronin are deep and effective. 

The fine hybrid smooth/checkered crossed cannon wooden grips complement the attractive two-tone finish. 

The rear sight combines high-visibility white dots with a "Tactical Rack" ledge for one-handed cycling of the pistol. This is coupled to a fiber optics front sight for a a high-visibility sight picture.

Springfield Armory Ronin, much more than “an ordinary 1911”

The Ronin features a 5"/ 127 mm hammer forged barrel and a stainless steel magazine with basepad featuring an 8+1 capacity in .45 and 9+1 in 9mm. There's also an enhanced grip safety with beavertail and raised "memory bump" for positive engagement. 

And last but not least, the streamlined and skeletonized Gen 2 Speed Trigger of the Ronin is designed for performance. So, it looks like an ordinary 1911, but this pistol from Springfield Armory is much, much more. 

All its aesthetic and functional details actually make the Ronin an outstanding pistol that, according to the manufacturer's claim, “is built for a lifetime of service”.
