Springfield Armory is introducing the new All-Black 1911 Emissary models, available in 5″/127mm and 4.25″/108 mm barrel lengths and in both 9mm and .45 ACP calibers. The new variants of the Emissary series feature all-black Cerakote finishes and VZ Grips Thin-Line G10. The 1911 Emissary series was launched in 2021 with the sated aim to “bridge defensive and custom pistols”, combining custom 1911 features and enhancements to offer shooters “a serious defensive pistol with style” (see here the all4shooters.com article on the original Emissary series).
Highlights of all the Emissary family (All-Black variants included) are the rugged forged carbon steel slide and forged stainless steel frame for strength and durability, with “Tri-Top” cut slides featuring light-diffusing/glare reducing 40 LPI flat-top serrations. The heavy-profile bull barrel is intended to provide maximum accuracy and reduced muzzle flip. Sights are Springfield Armory’s U-Dot, specifically designed for defensive situations with fast and intuitive acquisition. They consist of a tactical rack u-notch rear and a tritium/luminescent front sight – ideal for low light conditions. The skeletonized hammer delivers ultra-fast lock times, while the simplified solid-body, flat-faced trigger should guarantee top-end performance.
In both the 9mm and .45 ACP versions of the All-Black Emissary Models the dust cover has an integrated Picatinny accessory rail.
Price for all the Emissary 1911s, irrespective of caliber and/or barrel length, is $1,378 (MSRP in the U.S.). The Emissary pistols comes with two high quality stainless steel magazines with base pads (8-round capacity in .45 ACP and 9-round in 9mm). A double-zipper case is included. The soft-sided shell ensures the firearm and mounted accessories are protected during transportation, while an interior pouch can hold an additional magazine.
