“The smallest and most concealable 9mm tactical pistol available on the market” is FN's claim regarding the new optics and suppressor ready FN 509 Compact Tactical, the latest model in the 509 striker-fired, polymer-framed pistol series.
The most characterizing feature is FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System, capable of accepting more than 10 miniature red sights, and the 4.3" cold hammer-forged threaded barrel, which is compatible with today’s most popular aftermarket accessories like compensators or suppressors. Moreover, the new FN 509 series pistol sports suppressor-height night sights that aid in co-witness of the miniature red dot and while the optics system is not in use. A protective slide cap provides a serrated surface for racking the slide from any surface and ensures iron sight alignment.
An enhanced grip texturing and interchangeable backstraps allow for secure and comfortable hold, while a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail provides compatibility with most compact pistol lights.
The FN 509 Compact Tactical is available in both black and flat dark earth (FDE) and with a wide variety of magazines, from the12- or 15-round standard ones up to an extended 24-round version.
For a MSRP of 1049 USD, the pistol comes in a soft-sided case with the optics-mounting kit and one each of the 12-, 15-, and 24-round capacity magazines, complete with the appropriate grip sleeves, or in a state-compliant configuration with 10-round magazines.
