Not even SIG Sauer could resist the charm of the revived 10mm cartridge: the new 10mm P320-XTEN enters the scene. “All the performance and reliability of the P320 chambered in the very formidable 10mm caliber,” they say introducing what actually is the most powerful P320 SIG has ever built, that combines the features of SIG's XSeries models “with the punch of the 10mm round”. With all such power, the new P320-XTEN's intended uses range from self-defense – even if a full-size, it's still a carry gun – to hunting and bear defense.
SIG Sauer P320-XTEN, optimized for 10mm
The SIG Sauer P320-XTEN is a striker-fired pistol featuring the all new XSeries grip module, designed specifically for 10mm and 45 AUTO calibers, including the XSeries deep trigger undercut, extended beavertail, plus aggressive stippling for a high grip, which means easier recoil management and better comfort. According to the manufacturer, thanks to its slim design the grip doesn't even feel like a 10mm, but more like a 9mm.
The 5” bull barrel is another premium feature of the new handgun, as well as the flat XSeries trigger with a 90-degree break, Nitron finished stainless steel optics ready slide compatible with a ROMEO2 and RMR optic with front and rear serrations, and XRAY3 Day/Night sights as standard. (The slide comes factory with an optics cut.)
Regarding the barrel, its additional mass and weight “absorbs the power of the round lowering recoil and providing exceptional accuracy shot after shot for the premium performance you expect from a P320 and an XSERIES model to become the P320-XTEN,” says Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President Commercial Sales, SIG Sauer, Inc.
Magazine capacity is 15 rounds – actually, pretty impressive firepower in 10mm – and the pistol also has an integrated beveled magwell for quick magazine changes.
The P320-XTEN ships with two 15-round steel magazines.
