New from SIG Custom Works: P320 AXG Scorpion 9mm pistol with metal grip module

“Combining the weight and balance of a metal framed pistol with the performance and reliability of the P320”, they say at SIG Sauer. Two things actually stand out about the new P320 AXG Scorpion 9mm pistol: it's the first pistol release from SIG Custom Works and, number two, after a couple of decades of dominance by polymer-framed guns, it marks a return to traditional steel frames. The P320 AXG Scorpion in fact is SIG's very first commercially available “full metal” P320, featuring the newly developed AXG metal grip module, precision machined with deep undercuts and an extended beavertail. This, according to the manufacturer, delivers  “a uniquely refined shooting experience unlike anything else”, in the words of Tom Taylor, SIG's Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales.

An ultra-premium package

The SIG Custom Works P320 AXG Scorpion is a carry-size 9mm striker-fired pistol. Besides the already mentioned AXG Carry grip, it 's characterized by custom Hogue G10 grip panels and backstrap insert. The pistol also features an XSeries optic-ready slide compatible with three direct-mount options for the SIG SAUER Electro-Optics Romeo1Pro, Delta Point Pro, and RMR Reflex Optics, XRAY3 Day/Night Sights, and an XSeries flat skeletonized trigger. The finish is FDE Cerakote.

The P320 AXG Scorpion is a limited edition gun. it ships with 3 P320 magazines – the latter have new enhancements including witness holes for each loaded round and a high-visibility follower. The P320 AXG Scorpion also comes with a Negrini SIG Custom Works case, challenge coin, and an official SIG Custom Works Certificate of Authenticity. Price has not been communicated yet, but that's what they define an ultra-premium package – so don't expect if cheap.
