The first Henry rimfire revolver: introducing the new .22 Golden Boy

They say that there's a first time for everything. So, don't be surprised if after introducing the Big Boy, its first double-action/single-action revolver in in .357 Mag. last year, the world leader in lever actions Henry Repeating Arms is now introducing its first-ever rimfire revolver, the Golden Boy in .22 S/L/LR. Ideal for plinking and offering a large-capacity 10-round cylinder, the new Henry revolver features a double-action trigger and is available in two different grip configurations, namely Gunfighter Grip and Birdshead Grip.

The Golden Boy Revolver is available in two different grip configurations: the squared Gunfighter Grip (right) and the rounded Birdshead Grip.

Taking its name from company's signature lever-action rifle, the Golden Boy Revolver can shoot .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges for unmatched versatility – and inexpensive fun. The gun comes with a 4”/102 mm round-profile barrel and a steel medium-size frame (apparently the same of the .357/.38 Spl. Big Boy model), both with a polished blue finish. Grip panels are American walnut, while backstrap and trigger guard are highly polished brass for that traditional “Old West” look. On the other hand, a modern transfer bar ignition system ensures safety.

Sights classically consist in a fixed notch rear sight cut directly into the frame, and a blade front sight. The latter is interchangeable, and three heights of front blade sights (High/Medium/Low) are included to allow shooters to adjust elevation.

The square Gunfighter-style grips are designed for maximum control while the rounded, compact Birdshead-style grips provide better concealment in case you want to carry the Henry revolver. The Golden Boy's weight is just a few grams above a kilo.

Internal components are hand-fitted with tight tolerances to deliver, according to the manufacturer's claim, a smooth operation and accuracy thanks to a linear trigger pull and hammer drop in double action, and a crisp break in single action.

The 10-round cylinder features an innovative quick takedown system to make cleaning easier and minimizing downtime between shooting sessions.

Only downside: with a price tag in the US of $928 for both the Gunfighter Grip and Birdshead Grip versions, the .22 Henry Golden Boy Revolver is not a cheap gun.
