News broke out on the Internet a few days ago, as the first production stills were published, and the world of fans and enthusiasts − gun enthusiasts, movie goers, and fans of anything... James Bond! − has been in turmoil ever since.
It's official: the Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic semi-automatic double-barrel pistol is set to appear in 007 - Spectre, the twenty-fourth installment of the movie saga dedicated to the adventures of the world's most famous secret agent.
Understanding the marketing power that this great opportunity is creating, Italian-based Arsenal Firearms S.r.l. urges all interested shooters worldwide to revise its line of products and dedicated accessories and to make ordering plans, as the pressure is already on. The Company will also welcome all visitors to its booth at the 2015 IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg (Germany), on Friday 6th thru 9th.
"007 - Spectre" will see Daniel Craig reprise the role of James Bond for the fourth time in a row, and will be the second installment − after "Skyfall" − to be directed by Sam Mendes, who's mostly known for directing Kevin Spacey in the 1999 comedy-drama "American Beauty" − which earned him both the Golden Globe award and the Academy Award for Best Director − and Tom Hanks in the 2002 crime film "Road to Perdition", once again an Academy Award winner for Best Cinematography and a BAFTA Awards winner for Best Cinematography and Best Production Design.
The Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic is an upgraded variant of the AF2011-A1 Second Century" − the world's first industrially-manufactured, fully operational double-barrel semi-automatic pistol − and is offered in .45 ACP, .38 Super Auto and 10mm Auto.
The AF2011 Dueller Prismatic feeds through two twin 8-rounds single-stack metal magazines, and pulling either one of the two triggers will activate the single-spur double hammer and cause both barrels to fire simultaneously, with a perfect timing conceived and calculated to prevent any jamming possibility. The two barrels of the Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic are 6.5-inches long, manufactured out of SUS416 steel, and sport Hybrid-type compensation ports.
The slide of the Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic semi-automatic pistol is machined from a solid billet of 39NiCrMo steel (the same steel used in the manufacture of the frame), using state-of-the-art machineries that provide some of the industry's tighter tolerances. Other than the peculiar shape of the slide, allowing a faster and more intuitive target alignment, some of the features of the Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic double-barrel pistol include a dovetailed removable front post sight, an adjustable rear sight, G10 grip scales and skeletonized triggers. Think of it as a double-barrel version of a 1911-type IPSC pistol!
007 Spectre - behind the scenes. The new James Bond movie is set for theatrical release in November 2015
Arsenal Firearms S.r.l. delivered five samples of the AF2011 Dueller Prismatic semi-automatic double-barrel pistol − of course adapted to fire blanks for screen use − to the production several months ago; some of the cinematography that saw the use of the AF2011 Dueller Prismatic double-barrel pistol was indeed shot in Italy, and more specifically in Rome.
In the movie − set for global theatrical release on November 6th, 2015 − the Arsenal Firearms AF2011 Dueller Prismatic double barrel pistol will be the signature weapon of Mr.Hinx, a hitman and high-ranking member of SPECTRE − a secret international crime syndicate and James Bond's quintessential nemesis.
Mr.Hinx is played by 46-years-old David Michael "Dave" Bautista, Jr., known to the general public as a WWE wrestler under the name of "Batista", as well as for playing Drax The Destroyer in the 2014 Marvel hit "Guardians of the Galaxy".
Arsenal Firearms S.r.l. couldn't ask for a better occasion to spotlight its most quintessential and unique product. We will thus eagerly wait for the release of "007 - Spectre" to see if the silver screen can really catch and highlight the spectacular feature and power of this true masterpiece of the Italian gun industry!
