The Rex Zero 1, manufactured in Slovenia by Arex d.o.o., was first showcased at the 2014 EUROSATORY expo in Paris. Now Arex has just added two new 9mm variants: the Rex Zero 1 CP (compact model) and the Rex Zero 1 T (Tactical). Both will be available in black or FDE (Flat Dark Earth) color and will be imported in the US by FIME Group.
Rex Zero 1: the Compact version
The full-size Rex Zero 1 is a hammer-fired pistol patterned after the popular SIG Sauer design with a 4.25” barrel. The gun complies with strict military standards for reliability and with an expected service life exceeding 30,000 rounds.
Its new compact version has a 3.85” barrel and can be equipped with 10-round or 17-round magazines. The 10-round magazine is good news for customers in some US states where “high-capacity” magazines re banned by law.
Like its full-size sibling, the Rex Zero 1 CP can be operated either “cocked & locked” or safely de-cocked for DA/SA operation - the external safety operates in either configuration - and has a hard anodized T7075 aluminum frame made from solid bar stock with steel locking block insert. The Nitrocarburized steel slide is made from solid bar stock, while the barrel is cold hammer forged and Nitrocarburized too. Safety and magazine release are ambidextrous and the slide-stop also serves as de-cocker.

Rex Zero 1: the Tactical version
Full length slide rails, forward cocking serrations and Picatinny railed dust cover are some features that the Rex Zero 1 CP shares with the new tactical variant, the Rex Zero 1 T.
The latter also has a threaded barrel (1/2"-28 right-hand threads) with protector, a 20-round magazine, Red Dot Optics adapter plates, high profile white dot steel sights (it accepts replacement sights) and large trigger guard for use with gloves.
Like the CP version, the frame is hard anodized T7075 aluminum frame made from solid bar stock with steel locking block insert, the Nitrocarburized steel slide with forward cocking serrations is made from solid bar stock, and the cold hammer forged barrel is made from solid bar stock and Nitrocarburized.
The Rex Zero 1 T can be operated either “cocked & locked” or safely de-cocked for DA/SA operation, has ambi- safety and magazine release, and the slide-stop also serves as the de-cocker. It’s approved for use with all commercial SAAMI specification +P ammunition.
