A full-size hybrid 1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP featuring a patented polymer frame for less than $400: US company American Tactical Inc introduces the all-new FXH-45M Moxie 1911 pistol. A new barrel, slide and sight set, plus a 4140 steel slide with a parkerized finish are some of the strengths of this single action, semi-automatic pistol sporting a very familiar 1911 look but with a touch of modernity. The frame was in fact designed with built-in finger grooves for an ergonomic feel and has two metal inserts for added stability and durability.
The FXH-45M Moxie 1911 is 8.7”/221 mm long (a tad bit more than a classic Colt 1911) and 5.4”(137 mm high. It weighs 1.95 lb/884 g unloaded and without the magazine. A couple of niceties: the Moxie has black polymer grips and a removable top plate that allows for the addition of an optics mount. Even more interestingly, it accepts GLOCK front and rear sights, including aftermarket night sights. It is also compatible with most standard 1911 parts and grips.
