Swarovski announced the new X5(i) variable magnification riflescope series at the 2016 edition of the Shot Show. Introduced at the 2015 IWA Show, this riflescope is built from the ground up specifically for long range shooting.
The X5(i) is a completely new rugged and reliable optical design with a 5X zoom range, created for the highest precision and accuracy. Featuring a 30mm maintube with reinforced walls, stainless steel parts in the elevation, windage and parallax turrets as well as inversion system, and an innovative spring retention and lever system, enables the X5(i) elevation turret to yield 20 MOA per revolution, reaching the impressive adjustment range of up to 116 MOA with ¼ MOA clicks. The viewing window on the turret shows the user what revolution he or she is on.
The elevation turret has a zero stop system with a new subzero function, allowing the shooter to dial at closer distances if the zero is set at a further than usual zero. It allows the shooter to come down 10 MOA or 40 clicks from a pre-set zero. The illuminated versions have fully illuminated reticles and feature 10 brightness settings. 2nd focal plane long range reticles will be available in 1 or 2 MOA increments in both illuminated and non-illuminated versions.
The Swarovski Optik X5(i) will be available in two different models, the 3.5-18x50 P – with 1/4 MOA impact point adjustment, and the 5-25x56 P – with either 1/4 or 1/8 MOA impact point adjustment. Introduced at the IWA Show earlier this year, the new X5(i) riflescope is Swarovski Optik’s first specially designed and developed long-range aiming optic, both for long distance sport shooting competitions and long range hunting.
