Burris XTR II 5-25x50, a low-priced long-range scope: presentation and video

Burris offers the XTR II 5-25x50 for tactical and long-range target shooters. At a price of approx. 1200 euro, the riflescope is intended for price-conscious shooters or beginners. It offers some features, which are unique for this price class and can be rather found in high-priced European products.

In our test configuration, the Burris XTR II was equipped with an illuminated SCR reticle in the first image plane. The illuminated reticle has 11 brightness settings and the parallax compensation ranges from 50 m to infinity. SCR stands for "Special Competition Reticle". Burris developed this especially for the XTR II. The goal was to tailor the reticle exactly to the capabilities of the optic itself.  Some optics of this series are also available with additional reticles.

Burris riflescopes are all easy and intuitive to use. For the XTR II test model, the illumination is on the left side. This is also where the adjustment knob for parallax compensation is located. At 12 and 3 o'clock respectively, the crosshair can be adjusted in height and windage. Shooters can also adjusts the magnification of the Burris XTR II as usual, i.e. by means of a ring on the rear of the tube, in front of the eyepiece.

Not only the 5x zoom makes it interesting for long-range and PRS shooters, but also the large height adjustment range of 200 cm at 100 m. The turret has two turns available, providing a 100-cm adjustment each at 100 m. A pleasant and almost indispensable feature for long distances.
