New Cold Steel 60 Series knives – with three models

Cold Steel is introducing three new products with the 60 Series knives. They are all liner lock folders, slim and light weight, and their common features include unique blade shapes, forged 20CV steel, and compressed carbon fiber handles. The three new knives are called respectively Caledonian Edge, Spectre Hawkbill and Spectre Drop Point.

Cold Steel Caledonian Edge, the “Big Brother”

The most expensive model of the family at $449.99, the Caledonian’s Edge has a 108-mm long, 3.8-mm thick spear-point blade which is perfectly symmetrical from end to end. With a quick-to-sharpen hollow grind and matte black PVD finish, it uses a thumb stud for deployment. As already stated, the knife uses a liner lock locking mechanism. Bolsters are titanium. The carbon-fiber handle is relatively thin with a palm-hugging profile. Weight is just 153 g, making the Caledonian Edge easy to stow away and ideal for everyday carry, also thanks to its integrated clip-up pocket clip.

The Cold Steel Spectre Hawkbill features a lean profile and a 96-mm talon-point blade. Handle is compressed carbon fiber.

Cold Steel Spectre Hawkbill, with talon-point blade

The Spectre Hawkbill is characterized by a lean profile, with a 96-mm long, 3.8-mm thick, talon-point blade. Like in the Caledonian Edge, here too we find a hollow grind and matte black PVD blade finish, together with the signature carbon-fiber handle. For superior strength, the knife has solid titanium bolsters. An easy-to-operate thumb stud and secure liner lock mechanism makes deployment easy, while the integrated clip-up pocket clip allows for convenient carry (the knife weighs just 88 g). Price is $299.99.

The Cold Steel 60 Series is Spectre Drop Point knife: in common with the other 60 Series models, the 96-mm blade has matte black PVD finish.

Cold Steel Spectre Drop Point, an everyday carry tool

The last (for now) member of the 60 Series is Spectre Drop Point and it features – as you may have guessed – a thumb stud-deployed drop point blade which is 96-mm long and 3.8-mm thick, with the usual matte black PVD finish. Described by the manufacturer as a “tough-to-detect everyday carry tool”, its lightweight (88 g) and allows complex cutting tasks. The Spectre Drop Point comes complete with titanium bolsters and integrated clip-up pocket clip. Price is the same as the Spectre Hawkbill, at $299.99.
