A new Chairman of the Board and CEO for Česká zbrojovka (CZ). The company has in fact announced that Ladislav Britaňák, former CEO, leaves his position and will be replaced by Jan Zajíc, the current Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer. The change was approved by the Board of Directors of the company at their regular meeting held on November 10, 2020.
"Ladislav Britaňák has done a lot of good work for Česká zbrojovka, either previously as a sales director or in the last more than two years as a general director. In total, he spent more than 16 years in Česká zbrojovka and significantly contributed to its growth. He deserves our great thanks for this work," said Lubomír Kovařík, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Česká zbrojovka Group, which is the main shareholder of Česká zbrojovka.
"I accept the role of CEO with a sense of great responsibility and humility. Česká zbrojovka is a very successful company with an ambition to assume a leading position on a global level. My goal is to fulfil this ambition in cooperation with the entire team of Česká zbrojovka and continue to lead the company not only to economic success, productivity and product improvement, but also to the satisfaction of our customers and employees," said Jan Zajíc.
Jan Zajíc, a 44-year old native of Uherské Hradiště, has been working at Česká zbrojovka since 2019 as its CFO. Prior to joining CZUB, he worked in various managerial positions in industrial companies in the Czech Republic and abroad. He started his career in Fatra, a plastic producer based in Napajedla, then in the Continental Barum plants in Otrokovice and Púchov, Slovakia. In the Continental Group, he held various positions in the financial management and controlling at the production plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and subsequently at the company's headquarters in Hannover, Germany. Jan Zajíc graduated in Economics and Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Mendel University in Brno. He is married and has a ten-year-old son.
