Fluna Tec is an Austrian company specialized in the production of detergents, lubricants and protective products for guns and optics. The Vienna-based brand was recently included in the range of products distributed by RUAG Ammotec. The individual products and cleaning kits designed for shooters and hunters - but not only - are therefore easier to find in gun-shops.
Let's see for example the cleaning kit for optics, sold in a transparent plastic tube package. Opening the screw cap we can extract the products that make up the kit, that is:
- 1 lens cleaning foam spray bottle
- 1 50 ml bottle of Isopropanol
- 1 50 ml bottle of anti-fog solution
- 1 40x40 cm microfiber cloth
- 1 20x20 cm lens polishing cloth
Lens cleaning foam
This product is specifically formulated for cleaning riflescope lenses, binoculars, photographic lenses, but also tablets, monitors, mobile phones, glasses and various glass and plastic surfaces. It does not contain alcohol and has a high cleaning and antistatic qualities, which prevents dust from accumulating. The foam cleaner should be applied to the lenses after removing all traces of dust using compressed air. The foam must be applied with the microfiber cloth included in the package. Leave it on for a few minutes, then remove it using the same cloth.
Isopropanol

Anti-fog solution
It must be used for the final cleaning step. The solution should be left on the lenses for a couple of minutes, then thoroughly dried using the polishing cloth. Once all visible traces of the solution have been removed, it is advisable to wait half an hour before using or storing the optic. The effectiveness of the treatment can be verified by blowing on the lenses: if applied correctly, the halo will dissipate instantly.
