The training system proposed by the Norwegian company Accurize consists of a laser-emitting cartridge, a simulator screen, a small tripod and a USB charger. In addition to these components, you will need to install the Accurize app on your smartphone or tablet, which is available free of charge for both iOS and Android. The laser cartridge must be inserted into the firearm's chamber. Then take aim at the simulator screen and fire. When the firing pin hits the back of the laser cartridge, the latter sends a laser pulse that hits the screen.
This pulse is recorded by the program that detects its position: the data is then sent via Bluetooth to the smartphone or tablet where you can see the point of impact on a simulation of the target. The system provides a valuable aid for training as it offers the same experience as being on the firing range. The system has a history function to record progress over time and a built-in sight adjustment function so you don't have to adjust the gun sights. System set-up is very simple and quick, and allows for dry fire training at home, in the office or wherever you want as long as you are indoors, with the target positioned at 5 or 10 meters.
A versatile system for rifles, shotguns and handguns
Laser cartridges are currently available in the following rifle calibers: .17 Rimfire, .22 Long Rifle, .22-250 Rem., .222Rem., .223 Rem., 6 mm BR Norma, 6mm XC, 6.5x55, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x47 Lapua, .243 Win., 7mm-08 Rem., 7x57R, 7.5x55 Swiss, .270 Winchester, .30-30, .300 Win. Mag. .30-06, .308 Win., 8x57 JS, 9.3x62, 10.3x60. Pistol and revolver calibers available are: .44 Magnum, .45 Long Colt, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .45 ACP, 9x19. In addition, there is also a 12-gauge cartridge that can be used in shotguns. All of them work with the same principle, i.e. they are operated by the firing pin and must therefore be inserted into the chamber. Exceptions are the two laser cartridges for the .17 and .22 rimfire calibers, that must be inserted into the muzzle, where they remain in position thanks to a magnet, and are acoustically activated by the sound of the firing pin.
Smart targets
We now come to the target, which is really interesting. It has the shape and size of a small tablet (270 x 210 x 28mm) and allows you to display on it a wide variety of targets printed on special plastic sheets with the right color resolution for the laser, allowing you to try your hand at different shooting exercises in different sports categories, from Biathlon to the 25 m pistol, up to the running boar and moose and standard IPSC target. The targets are designed for use at a distance of 5 or 10 meters. Among the accessories that complete the set there is a 1.5 m track on which the wild boar or moose targets can move at adjustable speed. Also ingenious is the target lift that automatically lifts the target to the correct shooting position - standing, kneeling and prone – essential for training in three-position rifle shooting.
