Game Fair 2024 highlights

At the Shooting Line, with the help of instructors, you can try your hand at shooting clays, whether you’re a complete novice or have had some experience.

This year's highlights include one of the longest shooting lines at any event, delivered by the experienced team from E.J. Churchill, one of the world’s best-known shooting grounds and sporting agencies. There you can take part in competitions, have a go at clay shooting and watch some fantastic demonstrations. And if you are a real firearm enthusiast, the Gunmakers’ Theatre in particular should be one of your destinations: run by the Gun Trade Association, the timetable of events includes talks from experts on subjects such as customising English guns, gun maintenance, buying guns at auction, careers in the gun trade, gun safety and sporting optics.

Also at the Game Fair 2024: the Euro Challenge Trophy, showcases the skills of both gundogs and their handlers through a series of tests in a simulated shooting environment.

For archery enthusiasts, Stratford Archers – the archery club based in the historic town of Stratford Upon Avon – will be running the have-a-go archery area at the Game Fair and will be welcoming newcomers to the sport, providing them with a chance to practise several different types of archery.

If you like dogs, teams from across Europe will also be there for the Euro Challenge Trophy, showcasing the skills of both gundogs and their handlers through a series of tests in a simulated shooting environment. Each team features three dogs from a list of recognised breeds – labrador, golden retriever, flatcoat retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever, Curly-coated retriever, Chesapeake Bay retriever and Irish Water Spaniel.

Falconry has always been a part of The Game Fair: the Falconry Mews will have a spectacular variety of birds which will be flown throughout the day in the Main Arena.

Since falconry is a hugely popular part of The Game Fair, the Falconry Mews will have a spectacular variety of birds which will be flown throughout the day in the Main Arena.

Another Game Fair highlight: at the BASC Wild Food Theatre, some of Britain’s top game chefs in action will give live cookery demonstrations.

The Fishing Village at the Game Fair, nestled beside the river, is the place where visitors will be able to try their hand at catching fish, learning to cast or competing for prizes in a range of competitions and activities together with celebrities and professional anglers. Meanwhile, at the BASC Wild Food Theatre, you can see some of Britain’s top game chefs in action giving live cookery demonstrations.
