Leupold Optics unveiled the European Exclusive models from the brand new VX-3i and popular flagship VX-6 lines of hunting riflescopes at the 2016 edition of the IWA & Outdoor Classics in Nuremberg, Germany. These models feature revised, much finer illuminated German #4 reticles on the second focal plane, that are very popular amongst most European hunters.
The Leupold VX-3i line of variable magnification hunting optics feature a redesigned power selector that is much easier to operate and allows the shooter to quickly verify the power setting even wearing gloves, while the new Twilight Max Light Management System delivers excellent light transmission, enhancing the blue and red portions of the light spectrum for exceptional low light performance. The optical system also uses edge blackened lenses to reduce diffusion and glare improving resolution and contrast; the external surfaces of the lenses are coated with the scratchproof DiamondCoat 2 treatment. The optics are Argon/Krypton gas filled, are 100% waterproof and the windage / elevation adjustment system feature dual spring to ensure accuracy, repeatability and strength. The European Exclusive models equipped with the new illuminated German #4 Dot reticle are the VX-3i 3.5-10x56mm (model no. 171152) and the VX-3i 4.5-14x56mm with Side Focus (model no. 171154), both with a 30mm diameter main body and 1cm clicks on the turrets. The reticle sports eight levels of brightness.
Leupold’s flagship VX-6 line of variable magnification premium hunting riflescopes also feature DiamondCoat 2 lens treatments, edge blackened lenses and Argon/Krypton gas filling. In addition, a powerful 6:1 zoom magnification ratio in combination with Leupold’s Quantum Optical System offers excellent images from edge-to-edge throughout the entire magnification range and outstanding light transmission. The Xtended Twilight Lens System allows for improved resolution in low-light situations. The turrets allow for 1cm adjustments per click, and the robust, 100% waterproof main body features a 30mm diameter. The reticle is placed on the second focal plane, and uses the German 4F Illuminated Dot reticle. The VX-6 premium line of hunting riflescopes all feature a generous eyebox with extreme fast focus eyepiece, making it faster and easier to get your eye behind the instrument and achieve a full, clear sight picture. Two European Exclusive models with German 4F Illuminated Dot reticle have been added to the VX-6 line: the VX-6 2-12x42mm (model no. 171679) and VX-6 3-18x50mm (model no. 171678).
