HIKMICRO 2024 “Grow Together, Explore Together” event and exclusive interview

Not breaking news anymore, as many of our readers know that all4shooters has been awarded with the HIKMICRO Tech’s Excellence in Communication Award 2024 at the first international summit for the industry Sales Agents, Media and distributors of the Chinese Thermal Imaging sport optics manufacturer.

HIKMICRO invited all4shooters.com’ Franco Palamaro to attend its first Overseas Sales Agents Summit, with the motto “Grow Together, Explore Together”. It was a great occasion to visit the factory and interview the Chinese Tech giant’s key people. 

The event was hosted in the halls of the Huangzhou Sofitel hotel and HIKMICRO’s headquarters, and was opened by a speech of Bruce Ling, HIKMICRo’s chairman.

As members of the media, we had the chance to not only attend the event itself, but also visit the optics factory, chip manufacturing facility and also participate in a Media workshop – along with a number of invited international colleagues from various Media channels − on thermal imaging technology and communication of hunting in the digital age. The event, including the Media only meeting, span over three days, from July 8^th to the 10^th.

More than 300 participants and HIKMICRO Top managers packed the conference room of the Grand Hotel Sofitel in Hongzhou for the event.

First off − the event itself is of huge importance to the industry, especially for distributors and partners, but it is also of some interest to the average hunter or all4shooters.com reader, although not as much as it is to the industry; however, we had the chance to take a look at HIKMICRO’s roadmap with a number of products and updates which will be released beginning last quarter 2024 all the way to 2025, details of which alas we cannot mention in this article due to enduring non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We have interviewed two key people: Stefan Li, HIKMICRO Overseas General Manager, and May Mei, HIKMICRO Product Manager.

Following HQ of HIKMICRO, we visited the manufacturing buildings, and we covered our visit in a full HIKMICRO’s factory tour,  which will be published in the near future, including a glimpse of the super secretive Silicon chip manufacturing facility where the FPA sensor are made in-house.

We were quite impressed by the automation of the factory, a number of robots handled almost all of the logistics, and also the flexibility of the manufacturing lines that could be repurposed easily from one product to another in very little time.
