Who doesn't fondly remember the first time in their youth when they were allowed to look through their father's large binoculars on a hike with their parents? They were heavy, so he took the precaution of holding on to them, but the clear view and, above all, an almost perspective visual field with both eyes only opened up this fascinating world for a few seconds at a time, then it wobbled too much again. Getting closer to nature with binoculars, or observing animals from a distance that doesn't startle them: all this only works if the binoculars are designed with children or young people in mind. Children should be able to learn how to use this fantastic optical device at an early age and without fear. The new MY Junior children's binoculars from Swarovski Optik are just right for this, as they are designed with the special features of an optical device for children's hands in mind. You can expect the well-known high manufacturing quality of the Tyrolean company, the MY Junior is certainly not a toy. Just in time for the start of summer, it is now available from selected specialist retailers or online.
Two models, each in a set: the MY Junior children's binoculars from Swarovski Optik
Why special binoculars for children? What is different about them to the full-grown "adult models"? We asked the manufacturer directly. “Since our company was founded in 1949, love of nature and our customers’ wishes have been important sources of inspiration for innovative new products. With our first high-quality children’s binoculars, we now want to inspire young people to discover nature. Our aim is also to help heighten the next generation’s awareness of the need to protect the beauty of our natural world. We are proud that we have once again succeeded in launching binoculars which currently have no comparable rivals on the market,” says Stefan Schwarz, CEO of Swarovski Optik, about the new MY Junior.

When developing the MY Juniors, particular consideration was paid to the needs of 6 to 14-year-old users. The colorful design, easy operation with a large field of view (126 metres at 1,000 metres) and child-friendly instructions, in which an illustrated hawk plays the leading role, make the binoculars particularly user-friendly.
With the MY Junior, children can see subjects seven times closer than with the naked eye, and the shortest viewing distance is four metres. The 28-mm objective lens captures enough light to observe well into the evening hours. Weighing of just 480 g, the MY Junior binoculars are particularly light. The scope of delivery also includes a practical bag that not only holds the binoculars themselves, but also the Nature Notes: young adventurers can record their discoveries in this special notebook.
