New ammo for 2021: new hunting and sporting cartridges from RWS – All data and prices, with video

The first announcements for RWS's 2021 new products are coming in: even a well-estrablished manufacturer like RWS not only presents itself in a modern way and with its finger on the pulse of the times, but also brings further and new developments to the market in 2021. The company's already extensive range of sporting and hunting ammunition will now be supplemented and expanded once again.

For example, the well-known RWS HIT will be available in additional calibers. Besides further expanding its range of lead-free hunting ammunition, RWS has a new development to offer in the match sector in the form of the "Scorion" bullet. The RWS Target Elite Plus in .223 Rem. and .338 Lapua Mag. calibers will also be equipped with the new bullets in the course of the year.

In the following, we will present you with an overview of all the new products, sorted into the areas of hunting and sports shooting. We will provide more details on the individual products at a later date, when the market launch is imminent. But now to the announcements for 2021:

RWS HIT in new, small calibers for 2021: lead-free and effective

The caliber range of the proven RWS HIT is experiencing renewed growth: the lead-free cartridge will also be available for the smaller .22 Hornet, .222 Rem., .223 Rem. and 5.6x50 Mag. calibers for hunting varmint to light game, starting in the second quarter.

RWS is thus once again significantly expanding the possibilities of lead-free hunting. The advantages of the high weight-retention bullet, such as a flatter trajectory and high shocking power due to fragment-free mushrooming in the game body, should also be available for the smaller calibers with the RWS HIT.

RWS Target Elite Plus with Scorion bullet: accuracy for sports

One of RWS's latest in-house developments for the sporting field is the Scorion family of bullets. The match bullet will also be available in 5.6 mm (.224), 6.5 mm (.264), .30 (.308) and 8.6 mm (.338) calibers and with different bullet weights during 2021. We have already tested the Scorion bullet on the range.

The characteristics of the Scorion bullets, such as their particularly stable, flat trajectory and insensitivity to wind for open-range competition, will also be shared by the Target Elite Plus match cartridge series in .223 Rem. and .338 Lapua Mag. calibers.
