In Nuremberg, among the novelties Baschieri & Pellagri is exhibiting three 12 gauge buckshot loads dedicated to ungulate hunting in the countries where it's permitted.
Baschieri & Pellagri Big Game: three new buckshot cartridges
The first product developed by Baschieri's research department is the Big Game 8 Pallettoni (11/0) Copper Plated-Extra Velocity: a special cartridge featuring a 30 grams load with eight 8.6 mm copper plated pellets contained in a wad cup. From the ballistic tests they carried out, the company confirms that velocity is extremely high – 475 m/s – and pellet concentration is extreme even at long ranges.
The second cartridge of the line is the Big Game 10 Pallettoni (11/0) Copper Plated: it's features a 37 grams load with ten 8.6 mm pellets, here again, copper plated and contained in wad cup. In this case the velocity reached is still remarkable, at 415 m/s.
The third proposal by Baschieri is the Big Game 10 Pallettoni (12/0) Nickel Plated. This cartridge features the biggest pellets of the line: ten nickel-plated pellets of 9.1 mm in diameter. Extremely powerful also considering the generous 45 g load, this cartridge showed a great penetration power and optimal accuracy in ballistic tests carried out even at medium and long ranges with a velocity of 400 m / s. Like all cartridges of the Big Game line, these new products are distributed in packs of 10 pieces too.
