Hunting ammo: New products, tests, experience reports

A series of hunting actions, a synthesis of our experience with the Baschieri & Pellagri MG2 Mythos cartridges. Available in 12 and 20 gauge, these cartridges are by now famous for their velocity and consistent performance in non-migratory and migratory game hunting for the entire duration of the hunting season.

A few moments of field hunting for wood pigeons and turtle doves at the beginning of the season in North Macedonia, taking with us the Baschieri & Pellagri cartridges, this time in 20 gauge: the 31-g Mygra series cartridge designed for wood pigeon, and the recent Balistite cartridge with a 27-g load.

In our test set-up, we devoted ourselves to rather more unusual candidates: the .450 Bushmaster and .45-70 Government US calibers. Virtual SHOT Show 2021 / New from Olin Winchester and Browning: 6.8 Western. A new long range rifle, big game hunting caliber based on the Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) line of calibers, with a .277-caliber bullet. The new cartridge has been introduced with a number of loadings and both Winchester and Browning have already a choice of hunting rifles chambered in the new caliber.
