Video: Oleg Volk interview
All gun enthusiasts who roam the web nowadays know his work: we at all4shooters often use his pictures, particularly in law- and RKBA-related articles and contents.
Emigrated as a young man in the United States from what was then the Soviet Union, and now a resident of Nashville (Tennessee), Oleg Volk is one of America's leading photographers when it comes to firearms, personal defense, and outdoors.
He created campaigns and popular images for over sixty brands in the American firearms and self-defense industry − including Brownells, Kel-Tec, Coonan, Boberg, Viridian Laser, Nightforce, and many more − and also produces illustrated articles for publications such as Shooting Illustrated; the Small Arms Review and the Gun Digest; Women & Guns; the Canadian Firearms Journal; several Harris Publications titles; and for Web-based platforms and blogs such as AllOutdoor, CheaperThanDirt, and of course all4shooters.
Appealing vintage and modern firearms, beautiful backdrops and landscapes, breath-taking women and cheerful young shooters make Oleg Volk's works unique − so much, indeed, that they are often used by Oleg himself and by third parties to produce pro-RKBA material.
The defense of the right to keep and bear arms is a key political and social theme in the United States, and is slowly but relentlessly gaining momentum in Europe as well. Oleg Volk's commitment to the RKBA issue is more than just professionally motivated: it's a deep and firm personal belief to fight for.
And for me, Oleg Volk is more than just a great photographer and an exquisite person: he is a good, great personal friend, whom I always meet with great pleasure, and worth all the regard and respect he gets − or possibly even more.
It was a honor to interview him last January in Las Vegas, the day before the opening of the 2016 edition of the SHOT Show. Enjoy the video!
